First Lady Arabella Harper
Evangelist Arabella S. Harper is the First Lady of Kelly Lake Church of God in Christ where her husband of 48 years, Bishop Norman O. Harper, serves as pastor. She and her husband have co-labored in the Pastoral Ministry for more than 40 years. “Lady Harper”, as she is affectionately called by “The Lake”, serves as the President of the Women’s Department and Sunday School Teacher.
Sister Harper was moved by God to start a weekly morning intercessory prayer ministry which attracted people from the community and has been a blessing to the members. Through this outstanding ministry, many souls are saved and the membership has grown exponentially. Being the innovator that she is, Sister Harper also founded Sisters by Design, which is a dynamic ministry that meets the needs of professional single women.
Sister Harper, a charismatic mentor, allows the women to bond and confer over relevant matters which affect each of their lives. As a result of her forming the matriarchal relationship with these women, they grow spiritually and many of them have gone on to be married within the church.
She worked several years as Director of Senior Citizens Affairs in DeKalb County, before retiring to work full time in ministry. She is a professional floral designer and a wedding planner. She is dynamic and anointed speaker. She has faithfully served in several positions within the Jurisdiction. She served as the Marshall in the Women’s department; she was the YPWW Chairlady; and her current position is the President of the Pastor’s Wives Circle. She is the very proud mother of two: Rodney (entrepreneur); Bridgett (educator); and one grandson, Deaunta (college student), who she describes as the “apple of her eye.”
